This artwork uses recycled rebar from the Route 76 construction site as its sole medium. Rebar, embedded in concrete as the hidden "skeleton" supporting the highway, represents the silent, steadfast dedication of the Highway Bureau team and craftsmen. Through manual labor, the artist transformed this rigid scrap metal into a woven, monumental "drop" shape.
This drop signifies both the sweat poured out by craftsmen under the scorching sun and the crystal of time forged from over twenty years of professional effort—from initial site selection to the final opening. Its gentle, rounded contours soften the rugged concrete space beneath the bridge, while gaps in the woven steel allow light and shadow to filter through alongside the surrounding farmland, echoing the theme of "movement and lingering." Far more than a sculpture, the piece transforms the invisible "backbone of the craftsmen" into an embodiment of beauty and resilience that the public can instantly perceive.
A warm reminder from the artist:Do not touch the sculpture.
