Using the elevated Route 76 as its spatial setting, the work explores the relationship between reinforced concrete infrastructure and the tension of the body. Through movement workshops, participants were invited to become aware of how their bodies move beneath the highway, while traces of bodily transformation were gathered through free movement with and around objects.
A spiral structure woven from discarded wire mesh and steel wire transforms the invisible wind beneath the bridge into a tangible rhythm. As the wind passes through space, it evokes children running freely between earth and sky. Playful phrases suspended within the structure flutter in the breeze, bringing a sense of movement and vitality to what was once a rigid passageway.
Following the direction of the wind, the eye is drawn toward a series of stark black cylinders resembling a fence. The outstretched hands originally represent “prohibition” and “stop,” yet the colourful handprints made by the children weave through the black forms, introducing a touch of mischief.
Like a playful breeze hiding and reappearing, children may seem quiet and well-behaved one moment, only to transform in the next into mischievous little spirits, unexpectedly bursting through with a funny face that brings a smile.
These faces, blending innocence with playfulness, instantly soften the seriousness and rigidity of the space, opening up a small passage filled with childhood wonder.
The wind has no visible form, yet it leaves traces. The body has no fixed posture, yet it leaves its mark through movement. The work invites us to pause beneath the bridge—to look, to move, and to sense the breath and traces of the wind that are always present, even when unseen.
A warm reminder from the artist:Please keep a distance from the steel bebar artwork.Visitors are welcome to view the plastic pipe artwork up close.
