在台76線快速道路興建期間，許多勞動者遠離故鄉，在參與城市基礎建設的同時，棲身於親手搭設的臨時居所中。

本作品採用寫實的房屋結構為主體，讓觀者能直觀地捕捉到「家」的輪廓。牆面周圍由一片片藍白條紋帆布圍繞組合而成，這些帆布不僅是支撐「家」的結構，更承載著眾人的記憶。透過工作坊，我們邀請新工北同仁與彰化在地學生參與繪製，將他們心中的家庭樣貌、開車通勤的日常，以及施工勞作時的姿態與工具轉化為圖像。

當台76線快速道路完工後，便捷的交通縮短了距離，讓更多人得以增加陪伴家人的時光。這一片片固定於牆面的帆布，將勞動者的汗水與對家的思念凝聚成形。《什麼是家？》試圖呈現：家不僅是一個被建造出來的物理空間，更是一個由記憶與情感交織而成的存在。

During the construction of Route 76, many laborers worked far from home, taking shelter in temporary dwellings they built with their own hands while constructing the city’s vital infrastructure. Consequently, this installation adopts a realistic house structure as its core, allowing viewers to immediately recognize the outline of "home."

The walls feature blue-and-white striped tarpaulins screen-printed with scenes of the workers' daily labors, serving simultaneously as structural elements supporting the house. The roof consists of cut tarpaulin pieces printed during workshops with staff from the Northern District Expressway Office and local Changhua students, capturing their personal reflections on "home." Secured like roofing tiles, these assembled fragments form a collective tapestry of emotion and memory.

Ultimately, this artwork conveys that a home is not merely a constructed physical space, but a living presence woven together by shared memories.
